| Mark Kostabi was a flamboyant artist in the neo-expressionist scene of the East Village in the 1980s. He was often associated with Andy Warhol, and cultivated the media in a similar fashion. He remains active today, and his work is represented in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and others in Europe and Japan. He is seen here at the Gem Spa, the venerable East Village news stand where Kostabi and his artist friends checked to see if their names "made the papers" from art openings and exhibitions. | | |
